Quick Reference for InstallersBracket Placement by Shade Width
Up to 48"
2 end brackets only
48" — 72"
2 end + 1 center bracket
72" — 96"
2 end + 2 intermediate brackets (evenly spaced)
Over 96"
End brackets + 1 bracket every 36" — verify motor type
Always secure brackets to studs or use toggle anchors in drywall. Brackets should be level within 1/8".
Hardwired Motor Connections
1
Turn off circuit breaker before starting. Verify power off with a tester.

Connect Black (hot) from wall to motor Black wire.
3
Connect White (neutral) from wall to motor White wire.
4
Connect Green or bare copper (ground) to motor green wire or chassis screw.
5
Restore power and test with remote before installing into bracket.
⚠ If your motor has a blue wire (direction), do not connect it unless setting limit reversal.
Somfy / Automate Remote Pairing Steps
1
Power on the motor. Wait for the confirmation jog (up/down movement).
2
Press and hold PROG on the back of the remote for 2 seconds until the shade jogs again.
3
Press any channel button. A second jog confirms the motor is now paired.
4
Set upper limit: Move shade to desired UP position, hold My for 3 seconds until jog.
5
Set lower limit: Move shade to desired DOWN position, hold My for 3 seconds until jog.
6
Test up, down, and stop. Adjust limits with short PROG presses if needed.
For WiFi motors, download the Automate Pulse 2 app and follow in-app pairing after limit setup.
